Louisiana Music Teachers Association is proud to announce our 2026 Commissioned Composer: KERI DEVILYNN. She has composed a Solo Piano piece titled “To walk among the fae.” We look forward to the premiere of this piece at Louisiana Music Teachers Association Conference at Northwestern State University of Louisiana in Natchitoches October 8-9, 2026. Keri Devilynn Pertuit is a Louisiana based music educator and composer, holding a Bachelor’s of Music Education, and a Master’s of Music in Composition. Her music is inspired by folklore, scary stories, and the great outdoors; fueled by a moral mission to prove that music lives in all things and therefore comes from all things through traditional and non-traditional means. That mission is currently being pushed in the classroom, where she has spent the past six years at the nationally recognized Baton Rouge Center for Visual and Performing Arts, serving as the Instrumental Music teacher. Outside of the music world, she can most often be found barefoot, chasing her two children or chasing down her chickens.
