Dear Colleagues,
Happy New Year! It’s my privilege to serve you as the new chair of the Independent Music Teachers Forum (IMTF). For those who are new to the group, I’d like to share a bit about what IMTF is about. IMTF is a platform for music teachers to share their expertise with each other, help each other, and to make friends. This platform is provided to you through the Louisiana Music Teachers Association (LMTA).
I would like to invite you to attend the first 2022 Virtual Afternoon Tea on Saturday, February 26 at 3pm. The topic will be on sharing and swapping a favorite emergent piece on a different level. This can be helpful when a student has continued struggles on a piece or less interest in playing the music you assigned to them. There may be other songs to help engage them again. LMTA will be sending a Zoom link closer to the date.
Please help share the news about this event! We’d like to bring more prospective teachers to the group. IMTF is an excellent stepping stone for newcomers to learn about resources available to them. If you have any suggestions or questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at ltlien@gmail.com.
